Chapter 6 - The Ultimatum on the Harbor

"Apologize?!" Julian sneered, though a bead of sweat rolled down the side of his weathered cheek.
"To a maid whose father couldn't even pay his bar tab?! Never!"
Julian raised his hand, signaling his loyal enforcers stationed around the perimeter of the ballroom.
Before a single man could draw a weapon, the side doors of the gallery burst open.
Dante and twenty heavily armed tactical operators from the Black Harbor maritime security team flooded the upper balconies, laser sights glinting red across the chests of Julian’s men.
The room gasped in collective terror as every single union boss and port director raised their hands in instant surrender.
"You're outgunned, Julian," Adrian said calmly, stepping forward until he stood inches from his uncle.
"You thought Mason's exile was about a domestic dispute. It wasn't."
Adrian pulled a thick, leather-bound ledger from his inside jacket pocket and tossed it onto the center table with a sharp smack.
"For eighteen months, your logistics terminal has been smuggling contaminated pharmaceutical contraband through our northern shipping lanes without council approval," Adrian revealed.
The surrounding syndicate bosses leaned in, their eyes scanning the detailed shipping manifests and offshore wire transfers.
"Mason didn't just assault Isla in the courtyard," Adrian continued, his voice ringing with absolute, crushing authority.
"He cornered her because she was carrying the service trash bags containing the shredded manifests your couriers accidentally threw out in my private incinerator."
Julian’s jaw dropped, all the color draining from his face as he realized his entire treasonous operation had been exposed.
"She... she knew?" Julian stammered, looking at me with horrified disbelief.
"She didn't know the specifics," Adrian answered, turning to look at me with fierce, unwavering pride.
"She only knew Mason was trespassing where he didn't belong. But she held her ground, took his violence, and refused to break under his threats."
Adrian turned back to the gathered council.

"Julian Vale is stripped of his voting seat, his maritime licenses, and his territorial rights. The northern terminals are now under the direct management of Black Harbor."
The council nodded in unanimous, terrified agreement, leaving Julian standing alone in the ruins of his stolen ambition.
