Chapter 10 - The Healed King

One year later.

The morning sun bathed the grand ballroom of the Rossi estate in brilliant, golden warmth. The heavy, dark velvet curtains that had once choked the mansion in darkness had been replaced with sheer, flowing ivory linens that danced in the gentle mountain breeze.

The estate grounds, once a barren fortress of cold stone and razor-sharp hedges, were now bursting with color—vibrant white roses, blooming hydrangeas, and sweet jasmine lined the winding driveway.

In the center of the estate's newly renovated east wing stood the ""Hayes-Rossi Foundation Hospital,"" a state-of-the-art trauma and community care facility fully funded by legitimate shipping logistics, providing free medical treatment to thousands of underprivileged families across the state. Dominic had dismantled the syndicate's violent rackets, converting his vast empire into legitimate enterprise, using his power not to terrorize the city, but to shield it.

Norah stood before the tall mirror in the master suite, smoothing down the flowing fabric of her silk wedding gown. Her hair fell in soft curls around her shoulders, and her cheeks were flushed with radiant joy.

A gentle knock sounded at the door, and Leo stepped inside. He was smiling warmly, wearing a crisp tuxedo with a white rose pinned to his lapel.

""The guests have gathered in the courtyard, Mrs. Rossi,"" Leo said, bowing with deep, genuine affection. ""And the Don is growing remarkably impatient. He threatened to fire the orchestra if they didn't start the processional three minutes early.""

Norah laughed, the sound bright and musical. ""Some things never change, Leo.""

""Indeed,"" Leo smiled. ""Except for the fact that he smiles now. We have you to thank for saving not just his life, but his humanity.""

Norah walked out into the sun-drenched courtyard, where hundreds of guests—community members, reformed associates, nurses from her clinic, and city dignitaries—stood in joyful celebration.

At the end of the white carpet, beneath an arch of blossoming white lilies, stood Dominic.

He was breathtaking in a tailored black tuxedo, his tall, powerful frame radiating strength, command, and an overwhelming, tender pride. His dark eyes never left hers as she walked down the aisle, her hand trembling slightly with overwhelming happiness.

When she reached the altar, Dominic stepped forward, taking both of her hands in his. His touch was warm, steady, and filled with an unbreakable reverence.

""You look like an angel,"" he whispered, his voice thick with raw emotion.

""And you look like a fully recovered patient who finally followed his doctor's orders,"" she whispered back with a teasing smile.

""I will follow your orders for the rest of my life, Norah,"" he murmured, his gaze locking onto hers with eternal devotion.

The vows they spoke were simple, but they carried the weight of blood, survival, and a love that had defied the darkest forces of the underworld. When the minister pronounced them husband and wife, Dominic pulled Norah into his arms, dipping her slightly as he claimed her lips in a deep, passionate kiss that sent cheers echoing across the mountain valley.

As the crowd erupted in applause and white flower petals floated down through the golden sunlight, Norah rested her head against Dominic's chest, listening to the steady, strong rhythm of the heart she had saved.

She had entered the ruthless mafia boss's lair as a broke, desperate nurse looking for a single paycheck. She walked out as the queen of an empire, forever holding the heart of the king who had surrendered his darkness only to her."
