Chapter 11 - The Global Shockwave

The transition of Kincaid Regional Infrastructure from a local family trust into a state-spanning industrial powerhouse did not go unnoticed by international markets. Within forty-eight hours of the court-ordered asset forfeiture of Vale Capital, financial ticker symbols across Wall Street and London began flashing unexpected fluctuations.
Inside a glass-walled conference room in lower Manhattan, Arthur Sterling—a distant cousin of Julian and Victoria who had spent three decades distancing himself from the family name—watched the live market data feed scroll across his terminal.
"They didn't just dismantle a regional real estate firm," Arthur muttered to his chief risk analyst, a sharp-eyed woman named Claire Vance, who was distantly related to Elena. "The Kincaids have effectively seized control of every major logistics corridor between Nashville and the Gulf Coast."
Claire adjusted her glasses, studying a comprehensive report detailing the new infrastructure projects. "It’s worse than that, Arthur. By acquiring Vale Capital’s municipal debt liens and combining them with their own heavy logistics fleet, they’ve created a vertically integrated monopoly on southern transport. If they secure the federal port expansion contracts next month, they dictate shipping rates for the entire eastern seaboard."
Arthur leaned back in his leather executive chair, a grim smile touching his lips. "And what about Victoria? I heard her Swiss accounts were frozen by the federal magistrate."
"Victoria isn't out of the game," Claire replied quietly. "She’s currently flying private out of Zurich toward the Cayman Islands. She’s liquidated her private equity reserves into unlisted maritime shipping conglomerates. She’s building a new syndicate—one that operates completely outside domestic federal jurisdiction."
Arthur tapped his fingers against the polished mahogany desk. "Then we need to establish contact with the Kincaids before Victoria does. If we can bring them into our syndicate as primary partners, we control the heartland. If we fight them, we get crushed by their transport monopoly."

"And if they refuse?" Claire asked softly.
Arthur’s expression hardened into cold corporate calculation. "Then we ensure the federal maritime commission denies their port expansion permits. No one builds an empire on dirt and trucks alone without a coastline to ship it out."
