Chapter 10 - The Royal Wedding

Six months later, the sun shone brightly over the shores of Lake Michigan on an immaculate autumn afternoon.

The historic Fourth Presbyterian Church on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile was filled with over five hundred guests. Among them were world-renowned philanthropists, international diplomats, and Fortune 500 executives. But seated in the front rows of honor, right beside Julian’s family, were the nurses, orderlies, and doctors of Lakeshore Children’s Hospital—along with little Leo, looking healthy, radiant, and wearing a handsome miniature tuxedo.

At the entrance of the sanctuary stood Tessa Vance, now the proud lead designer and co-owner of the newly revamped, ethically-run Bellamy Atelier. She smoothed the magnificent cathedral train of Naomi’s dress, her eyes sparkling with tears of joy.

“You are ready, Naomi,” Tessa whispered with a radiant smile. “You are the most breathtaking bride this city has ever seen.”

The church pipe organ swelled with the glorious opening chords of the bridal march. The heavy oak doors swung wide open.

Every single guest rose to their feet.

Naomi stepped into the sanctuary on the arm of her proud father, who wept tears of profound emotion as he escorted his daughter down the aisle.

The dress was a marvel of craftsmanship. The ivory silk shimmered like fallen starlight under the stained-glass windows, its hand-sewn pearl embroidery trailing behind her in a breathtaking display of timeless beauty. But what truly captivated the room was Naomi’s radiant, serene grace.

Waiting at the altar stood Julian, looking striking in a midnight-blue tuxedo. As he watched his bride walk toward him, tears welled in the billionaire's eyes. He didn't see an empire or a high-society alliance; he saw his soulmate, his anchor, and the woman who had taught him the true meaning of humility and love.

When her father placed Naomi’s hand into Julian’s, Julian leaned in and whispered softly, “You took my breath away the day you stood up to Vanessa Cole in dirty sneakers. But today, my love, you have taken my heart for eternity.”

Naomi smiled, her eyes shining with absolute happiness. “I love you, Julian.”

Under the soaring vaulted ceilings of the cathedral, they exchanged their sacred vows. When the minister pronounced them husband and wife, Julian took Naomi into his arms and kissed her amidst a thunderous, standing ovation that echoed all the way out into the Chicago streets.

That evening, as the celebration continued at the grand gala, Julian and Naomi stepped out onto the private balcony overlooking the city skyline. The lights of Chicago glittered beneath them like diamonds, but the brightest light was the illuminated sign glowing five miles south: The Evelyn Carter Children’s Pavilion.

Naomi rested her head on Julian’s shoulder, her hand clasped tightly in his. She had started this journey in faded jeans, enduring the cruelty of a world that judged by appearance alone. But through dignity, unwavering kindness, and genuine love, she had conquered the highest heights—proving forever that true royalty is found not in wealth, but in the purity of the human heart."
