Chapter 10 - The King’s Reborn Kingdom

Six months later, the Moretti estate hosted the largest gathering New York society had seen in fifty years.

The grand ballroom was illuminated by thousands of crystal chandeliers, decorated in white roses and golden butterflies. Hundreds of guests—senators, foreign dignitaries, business moguls, and every capo from the Five Families—stood in hushed reverence around the perimeter of the dance floor.

At the center of the room, music played softly: an old Neapolitan waltz that had echoed at our very first wedding.

I stood on the polished oak floor, dressed in a bespoke black tuxedo, holding Isabella close against my chest. Her custom white silk gown pooled around her feet, her skin radiant, her eyes shining with tears of absolute joy. For the first time in our lives, there were no secrets, no scheming brothers lurking in the corners, no rival syndicates threatening our peace. Salieri’s empire had been dismantled, Vincent was an forgotten ghost wandering northern logging camps, and the Moretti family stood supreme, unchallenged, and unified.

""Daddy! Daddy, look!"" a tiny voice piped up from beside us.

Mia came running across the dance floor, wearing a miniature replica of her mother's white dress, with tiny silk butterfly wings strapped to her back. She skidded to a stop, proudly holding up a brand-new, gleaming pink bicycle with a silver bell and white streamers on the handlebars.

The room erupted into quiet, affectionate laughter. Even the most hardened mafia bosses smiled, bowing slightly to the little girl who held the absolute power to tame the fiercest Don in the country.

I knelt down in my tuxedo, entirely unconcerned with ceremony or pride, and caught Mia in my arms, lifting her high into the air. She giggled wildly, throwing her small arms around my neck.

""Did you ring the bell for Mommy?"" I asked her, tapping her button nose.

""Yes! And I put a bunny bandage on the tire so it never breaks!"" she declared proudly.

Isabella stepped forward, wrapping her arms around both of us, resting her forehead against my cheek. ""We have everything now, Dominic. Our family is whole.""

""More than whole, my queen,"" I whispered, resting a protective hand over Isabella's stomach. Just two days ago, Dr. Rossi had delivered the news that a new life had begun to flutter beneath her heart—a little brother for Mia, born not into a cage of shadows, but into the warm light of a kingdom that loved them.

I looked out across the ballroom, holding my wife and daughter in my arms. Grown men had once trembled at my name, fearing the wrath of Dominic Moretti. But true power was never measured by how many men you could put in the ground.

True power was having a family so precious, you would tear down the world to bring them home—and having the strength to build an empire where they could finally live in peace."
