Chapter 6 - The Studio In Soho

The next morning, Julian’s town car pulled up in front of a sunlit industrial loft on a quiet cobblestone street in SoHo.
Naomi looked out the window, confused by the lack of corporate logos or security barriers.
"Where are we, Julian?" she asked, turning toward him with curious eyes.
"This is the studio of Clara Moreau," Julian smiled, opening the car door for her.
"She was your mother's closest colleague before your father shut down her atelier."
Naomi felt her breath catch in her throat, her heart fluttering with sudden emotion.
Her late mother, Helen, had been an exceptional bridal couturier whose independent label had been liquidated by Richard Cole during the bitter divorce.
They stepped inside the airy studio, which smelled of pressed linen, raw silk, and warm lavender tea.
A silver-haired woman with kind, piercing gray eyes stepped out from behind a wooden cutting table, wiping her hands on an apron.
"Naomi?" Clara whispered, dropping her shears onto the table as tears welled in her eyes.
"Look at you. You have Helen’s posture and her beautiful, fearless chin."
Naomi walked forward and embraced the older woman, feeling a warmth and safety she hadn't known since she was ten years old.
"Julian found you?" Naomi asked, looking back over her shoulder at her fiancé.
"He bought back your mother’s original design archives at an estate auction three months ago," Clara explained, pulling open a flat wooden drawer.
"Every single sketch, every embroidery pattern, and every lace swatch your mother ever made was preserved."
Clara lifted a delicate blueprint from the drawer—a breathtaking sketch of a silk gown with hand-embroidered calla lilies along the hemline.
"Helen designed this for your wedding day when you were only six years old," Clara whispered, handing the aged paper to Naomi.

"She told me that one day, you would find a man who saw your soul, not your bank balance. We have four weeks to bring it to life."
Naomi held the sketch against her chest, weeping tears of pure, unadulterated joy as Julian stepped beside her, his arm wrapping around her waist with unbreakable devotion.
