Chapter 4 - The Unbroken Truth

"I signed your papers because I wanted nothing to do with a man whose soul costs less than a cheap necktie," Emily said, her voice remaining serene while cutting straight to bone. The eldest boy, Leo, tilted his head and looked at David with an unnerving, piercing clarity. "Mom, is that the man from the old picture who left you crying at the bus stop?" the little boy asked, his voice innocently carrying across the courtyard. David recoiled as if slapped across the mouth. He looked around wildly; cell phones were already raised, recording every second of the confrontation. The guests—executives from tech firms, prominent investors, local news anchors—were glued to the scene. Emily placed a protective, gentle hand on Leo’s shoulder. "Yes, sweetheart, but remember what I taught you: we never hold anger toward people who simply lack the capacity to be human." Olivia stared at the children, terror blooming behind her carefully applied makeup. The resemblance wasn't just vague; it was genetic fact written across their foreheads, noses, and ears. "Triplets," Olivia whispered, clutching her pearls. "You abandoned a woman who was carrying your triplets?" David lunged forward, his veneer shattering completely. "Get out of here! Security! Remove this trespasser and her bastards off the premises immediately!" But before the hotel security team could take a single step forward, Arthur Pendelton stepped directly between David and Emily, towering over the younger man with the authority of decades in high finance. "Careful where you direct your hostility, Mr. Miller," Arthur warned, his voice dangerously low. "You are speaking to the majority shareholder of the hotel you stand in."
